PolyNome is the Ultimate Metronome for iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch.

  • Play any rate between 1 and 32 notes
  • Features two metronomes in one so you can play rates against each other to create any polyrhythm.
  • Second metronome can cycle through a custom list of rates so you can easily program in the Rhythmic Scale, or practice switching between 2 or more rates.
  • Input bars of silence into the custom list to practice your time keeping.
  • Rates can be played back using 2 sounds in various sticking combinations. Accent combinations can be layered on top of those.

    I must say I'm totally in awe about this piece of software and I've only began using it. Transcribing has never been easier for me. I use it for practicing some of the weird things like odd time grooves, polyrhythms etc. It makes you understand a lot about rhythm and meter. I love that you can really be creative with it. You have a hand pattern idea but don't know what to play with your feet on a bass drum and hi hat? Just click away your hand pattern and randomly insert bass drum notes and use what you like. Or maybe you have a linear combination but don't know which instrument to play and when. I would warmly recommend it to every drummer or any musician who wants to learn more about rhythm. Joe really did a great job here. Get it, use it and have fun. And also, if you're into odd time and polyrhythms, happy brain melting! ;)

      Your Pyramid and OctopuSequencer programs are both incredible and helpful tools, beautifully executed and ingeniously devised. When I found them through a Google search, I couldn't believe that such programs existed and that I actually found exactly what I was looking for. 
     
    Anyone serious about drumming should consider utilizing both programs for learning, practice and experimentation. Unfortunately, most wouldn't know about the existence of tools of this sophistication, and therefore few would likely to be looking for them. However,  I certainly hope that somehow your products become as well known and achieves the same status as George Lawrence Stone's Stick Control book.
